DRAFT NSW SECURITY INDUSTRY AMENDMENT REGULATION 2012

The draft Regulation supports the reform measures to be implemented by the Security Industry Amendment Act 2012 and is proposed to commence on 1 November 2012.

The Regulation includes the proposed new fee schedule.

The Police Ministry has requested comments by cob Wednesday 19 September 2012.  SPAAL members are requested to provide comments to SPAAL for inclusion in the SPAAL submission by Friday, 7 September.

Comments can be provided directly to the Police Ministry by email toclaire.bowdler@mpes.nsw.gov.au or in writing to GPO Box 5434 Sydney NSW 2001.

The Police Ministry has advised of an error in the draft Regulation.

Proposed clauses 12, 12A and 12B incorrectly refer to Class 1 licences only and should refer to Class 1 and Class 2 licences.

The prescribed fees in respect to Class 1 and Class 2 licences are the same for 1 and 5 year terms, renewals and late renewals.
